How it works

1

Pick your devices

Sign in and pick the Google Home devices to schedule: smart plugs, relays, thermostats and air-to-air heat pumps.

2

Set your rules

How many hours, at what time, what counts as expensive and which temperature is never undercut. You see the schedule in advance.

3

Let it run

Our server computes the schedule every day from the published prices and drives your devices through Google Home automations.

What it does

Cheapest quarter hours

Water heater or floor heating on during the cheapest hours of the day, to the quarter hour.

Heat pump by price

Pre-heats before an expensive period and lowers the temperature during expensive hours, always within your limits.

Frost guard

Minimum temperature and frost protection come before price. Your cottage will not freeze for cheap power.

Price limits and timers

Always on below your own price limit, off when expensive. Timers also follow sunrise and sunset.

Works without your phone

The schedule runs on our server and in Google Home. Your phone can be off or lost.

You stay in control

Override at any time from the app or Google Home. Every switch is explained: why on, when off.

Devices

Wattspotter controls devices that appear in Google Home. They keep working in their own apps too.

FAQ

Do I need a spot-price contract?

The savings come from prices that change every hour, so a spot-price contract. With your contract details the app also shows the total price including grid fees.

Where do the prices come from?

Finnish day-ahead prices from the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform. Prices for the next day are published around 14:00 Finnish time.

Does my phone need to be on?

No. The schedule is computed on our server and devices are driven by Google Home automations. You only need the phone to change rules.

What does it cost?

The beta is free. Pricing will be announced before the public release.
